coldfusion reference docs on my ipod

In my geekiest coldfusion move yet, I followed the link sent to the Scottish coldfusion users group from Andy Allan and now have the coldfusion reference docs stored in my ipod's notes folder...why I felt the overwhelming need to do this has not yet become clear! but I suppose the next time I'm bored, on the bus, in a coffee shop etc without my laptop, I'll be able to alphabetically work my way through the functions and/or tags...oh dear...

One of my new found coldfusion buddies has quite rightly pointed out that I've not mentioned the little get together next Friday, so I've conveniently copied his comment and pasted it here so it hopefully gets noticed!

we're having a bit of a ColdFusion get together in Aberdeen next Friday if anybody is interested :-). Just spreading the word ;-)

RGU Union - 7th of September - 16:30
Free food, right next to the bar and some very talented guys coming along. What else does a ColdFusioner need???

coldfusion 8 beta released

The public beta of coldfusion version 8 (codenamed scorpio) has just popped up on adobe labs today.

I could spend a while writing about it's new features but adobe does a far better job of that!

Get it here

coldfusion coding guidelines

personally I know the importance of coding to a particular standard in terms of code re-use, code maintenance and ease of understanding for others working with the same codebase, so I was happy to come across this little gem for coldfusion.
