Install Safari on Windows

yep, you heard me correctly...you can now install safari on windows!

Apple launched the public beta of Safari 3 yesterday with support for windows so adding to my arsenal of browsers to test stuff on, I am now, at this very minute, installing safari on my windows machine.

follow along if you like

go here and click "download beta now", select "Safari for Windows XP or Vista" and download the setup file.

Double click on the installer and go throught the various options then sit and watch the progress bar for a bit then press finish and that appears to be it.

gonna reboot now so i'll check back in with any bugs/oddness I find.

Top 3 articles so far

Just had a look at my blog stats to see which articles have proved the most popular over my last 100 odd days of blogging and must congratulate orange on making a home wireless system so frustratingly annoying to set up that my post on finding the "secret" to getting it running has to date accounted for 135 views, now this isn't a big figure in the grand scale of blogging but I found it interesting that of all the posts, this was the one that topped the chart.

This is followed closely by my first blog post at 123 views and in third place comes my experiment with Stuart Ebdy for a little search engine test at 100 views...altogether interesting...if you like stats!

wireless electricity

Or "WiTricity" as I have just discovered.

This is the last cable to be cut from our wireless lives and although by the sounds of it, its still a way off, I find it interesting...so here's the blog post!

Imagine going to a wireless hotspot and knowing that your time there will no longer be limited by the life in your laptop battery, in fact, instead of draining your battery, it'll get charged instead...nice.

Now, apparently this isn't new technology, and according so some sources (see links below), this could have been invented a number of decades ago but maybe the time is right as we increasingly rely on wireless technology for our personal and business needs, I for one, will be keeping tabs on this.

Here comes the science

"simple physics", "resonance" and "magnetic induction" and discussed in depth in the following links as the boffins spell out the inner workings of WiTricity

30 days with no beer

Ok, its the month of June.

Those of you who have known me for any length of time know that every June I embark on a 30 day crusade to not drink any alcohol at all...in other words..."I'm aff it!"

Last year was a bit of a disaster...I think I made it to 13 or 14 days before giving in to one of my "friends" constant pestering to go to the pub...so I suppose we'll see how I get on this year...its now the 5th...early days but I'm feeling confident, got a couple of tricky situations over the next week or two with a businessy get together tomorrow evening and an overnighter in London next Wednesday, If I can make it through those two, then I reckon its in the bag.

What does everyone else think?...think I'll do it? do you embark on any crusades yourselves?
